Meerkats visit Fawcett Primary                                                                                                                                         Sunny the Meerkat provided the stimulus for our learning this week.                                                                     We explored postcards from Sunny and wrote our own postcards from his perspective.

In Science we began to study how living things are adapted to their environment by exploring adaptations, including those of meerkats.                                                                                                     The children found out that meerkats are adapted to living in the harsh desert environment. They have dark patches around their eyes to help them to be effective look outs by reducing the glare of the sun.
