Week commencing 9th Sept 2019
Wow! We have had a busy week with our first full week back at school! This week, we have continued to think about what life must have been like for people during WWII and have put up a display of our artwork and poems that we wrote last week, when we talked about the Blitz. Here are some of our pictures of the Blitz and our poems related to it:
In English, we have begun writing emotive letters and have put ourselves in the shoes of an evacuee. We have thought about how it would feel to leave your family and friends in the city and move to the country. We have been learning a letter as a class. Can you use the pictures to help you remember it?
In Maths, we have begun looking at Place Value and Number. We need to be able to compare and order numbers (including decimal points and negative numbers) and round numbers. Here are some examples of the work we have been doing in class:
In Science, we are learning about the circulatory system and found out how blood cells travel around the heart. We even labelled the classroom the parts of the heart and moved around like blood cells: entering through the Vena Cava and leaving through the Aorta. We found it rather confusing that the right atrium and venticle were on the left side of our diagrams and vice versa! Can you label the parts of the heart?
